# Role Term
- [[Labs Participant]]s serve on the project until their work is complete or they choose to leave.
- [[Labs Participant]]s can be removed from projects through the [[Participant Protocol#Remove Participant]]
- [[Labs Participant]]s may serve on multiple projects simultaneously.
- The duration of participation is determined by project needs and the participant's availability.
# Add Participant
This protocol serves as the primary entry point for individuals joining a project as participants (including non-members collaborating on a project).
**1. Identify Need**
- The [[Labs Coordinator]] or an existing project member identifies the need for a new participant.
**2. Proposal**
- A request to add a new participant is submitted by a [[Labs Member]] to the relevant Project.
**3. Review**
- The [[Labs Coordinator]] for the project reviews the proposal to ensure alignment with project goals and resources.
**4. Onboarding**
- If approved, the [[Labs Coordinator]] initiates the onboarding process, granting access to relevant tools and documents.
**5. Confirmation**
- The new [[Labs Participant]] is added to the project's member list and announced to the team.
# Remove Participant
This protocol ensures a smooth and clear process for participants leaving a project.
**1. Initiation**
- **Voluntary:** A participant informs the [[Labs Coordinator]] of their intent to leave the project.
- **Involuntary:** The [[Labs Coordinator]]], in consultation with the [[Labs Manager Council]] if necessary, initiates removal due to inactivity or misalignment.
**2. Offboarding**
- The [[Labs Coordinator]] revokes access to project-specific tools, transfers any ongoing responsibilities, and processes any final payments.
**3. Confirmation**
- The participant is removed from the project's member list, and the departure is noted in the project records.
