The Governance Forum is the shared decision-making space for OpenCivics Labs. In this interim phase, the address used for Snapshot is connected with our Colony instance and Labs DAO Treasury, which serves as a role-playing environment for membership. Here, participants can experiment with governance, signal preferences, and practice decision flows without requiring on-chain execution.
Decisions surfaced in Snapshot and Colony are executed by Labs Managers, who carry the mandate to enact outcomes on behalf of the community. This creates a balance between participatory input and practical execution, while preserving flexibility as the governance model evolves.
The forum therefore functions as both a sandbox for testing agreements and a legible record of how the network’s field of agreement takes shape — preparing the way for more formal, decentralized mechanisms in the future.
