# Context
Regen Commons emerges in a moment when humanity faces intertwined ecological, social, and cultural crises that demand more than isolated solutions. While many individuals, organizations, and communities are already working toward regenerative futures, their efforts are often fragmented, under-resourced, or constrained by systems built on extraction and competition.
Regen Commons is a response to this need: a common ground where resources can be pooled and stewarded collectively in service of regenerative action. It is not itself the site of every action, but rather the enabling infrastructure — a cooperative field that supports diverse communities and activities to thrive by directing common pool resources toward their regenerative efforts.
This document — the organizational DNA and Constitution of Regen Commons — defines the identity, structure, and protocols that guide how Regen Commons operates. It articulates the shared understanding we hold, the roles we play, and the agreements we use to align around a life-centered ethos. In doing so, it provides coherence without control, ensuring that Regen Commons remains an open, evolving, and trustworthy foundation for self-organized collective stewardship.
