Labs Projects are the primary mechanism through which OpenCivics Labs experiments, prototypes, and publishes contributions to the field of open civic innovation. Each project exists as a distinct group with its own participants, coordinator(s), and operational protocols.
# Composition
- **Formation:** Proposed by members, approved by Manager Council
- **Participants:** Labs Members, Labs Participants, and collaborators
- **Leadership:** Labs Coordinator(s) designated for each project
- **Scope:** Defined by project proposal and agreement
- **Resources:** Allocated from Labs Treasury upon approval
# Responsibilities
**Experimentation**
- Prototype and test emerging frameworks and methods
- Document learnings and insights
- Iterate based on feedback and results
**Collaboration**
- Coordinate effectively among participants
- Maintain clear communication and decision-making
- Integrate with broader Labs activities
**Publishing**
- Document and share project outputs
- Contribute to knowledge commons
- Present learnings to Labs community
**Accountability**
- Report on progress to Manager Council
- Manage allocated resources responsibly
- Complete or wind down projects appropriately
